While we celebrated two years of P and C with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse shindig...their actual birthday was a little more subdued...but still very special. I have made it my quest to always take the day off from work on their birthday if I can swing it. I can't think of any other way I rather spend their birthday than with the actual birthday boy and girl!
I found a few birthday day ideas on Pinterest about filling the room with balloons or covering a doorway with crepe paper...all very cute, but at this stage in the game not practical for my little ones. Parker is known to wake up (more often than I would like) and somehow end up in bed with Momma and Daddy. Crepe paper and balloons that I have to bust through at 3am just isn't too appealing. So...I compromised and put out a few on their little table in the kitchen with the gifts. Now don't tell anyone, but the birthday gifts were Christmas toys re-gifted. Santa perhaps made too many toys at Christmas and P and C had no idea those little computers were even left by the jolly old elf...so a little birthday wrapping and voila...birthday computers! The other "shared" gift was also a re-gifted Elefun from one of the Babe's aunt and uncles. I also pre-party practiced making paper poms and hung those over the kitchen table.

Me and The Babe (aka Daddy) spent the day with P and C starting with an early morning trip to the doctor for the 2 year visit and the babies were rock stars! Caroline rocked the sunglasses (best Easter Bunny gift ever) for most of the visit and when Dr. H was holding up her hand to check C's eyes one at a time...that was obviously a hand signal for a high five and that is exactly what Dr. H got! Both babies checked out great so off we went to Costco to stock up on party supplies.
Parker also got a birthday hair cut from our new favorite stylist and former Girl Scout troop member with Momma...Miss Robin. On the way home Momma and Parker dropped by McEntyre's and picked up the traditional birthday cake.

Later that evening Gigi, Poppie, and Madison came over to sing Happy Birthday and open gifts. Aunt KaKa sent over some Mickey and Minnie balloons but had to work the night shift at the hospital.

What a wonderful day with such wonderful little kids (but forever Momma's babies).
Happy Birthday to C & P! It looks like the actual day and party was a hit.
